Patrick Jean-Baptiste was born on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
As a child he sang in church choirs and danced on the hits of Otis Redding and James Brown.
His parents hoped he’d become a successful lawyer, but fate had something far more exciting in store.
He started his own band, Black Underground, while still working as a navigator for Air France.
When manager Daniel Vangarde discovered him, everything changed.

Singer Annette joined the group and famous composers such as Jean Klüger and Daniel Vangarde (the musical geniuses behind Sheila and The Gibson Brothers) wrote songs for them.
In less than no time, D.I.S.C.O. went to the top of the charts in Europe and sold more than 10 million copies throughout the world.
Many television appearances and concerts followed.
Ottawan was a worldwide phenomenon.
Several years later, Annette left the group due to family reasons.
Even today, Patrick continues to tour the world with his most famous hits (Hands up, D.I.S.C.O., You’re OK,…).
